Tonight we’re mixing it up a bit and honoring a volunteer and a local business with the coveted Simon HOF award and taking a break from the player categories until next year.
Volunteer HOF

Kristy MacLeod
Kristy has been volunteering with the Simon since the early days. She’s become synonymous as the CBU site lead, overseeing the two courts and supporting the officials and minor officials.
If you don’t know Kristy, she’s the person that will greet you at CBU with a big smile, eager to help! Kristy began volunteering as a Simon board member, bringing great ideas to meetings and involving different community organizations and businesses. As an employee of Boston Pizza, she’s also found ways to bring Boston Pizza into Simon to sponsor different aspects of the event.
We are very lucky to have someone like Kristy involved in the Simon for as long as she has been and this event wouldn’t be able to run as smooth as it does with people like Kristy giving up the time that she does.
Thank you, Kristy!

Cape Breton University
CBU has been a venue staple for the Simon for many years. We’re very lucky to have such a great partnership with CBU. They’ve been very accommodating when it comes to supporting not only The Simon but other community events.
“We love being a partner with the Simon Tournament. As a hub for high performance and community sport in Cape Breton, CBU recognizes how this tournament brings together communities from across the province to share in a weekend of fun and sportsmanship. To see how big of a weekend this has become over the years is a testament to the organizing committee, and the diligence of volunteers to make this a yearly event that everyone looks forward to. We look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come!”
Thank you, CBU!
